For 25 years, he has developed curriculum and workshops on a variety of topics, including digital storytelling, media literacy, and social justice. He leads digital storytelling trips for students and teachers to Latin America and Asia, and presents at national conferences like SXSW EDU, ISTE, and CUE. His new book about learning authentically, Storytelling With Purpose: Digital Projects To Ignite Student Curiosity, addresses existential challenges in education like artificial intelligence, and helps bring joy and purpose back to learning. Michael is an Apple Distinguished Educator, Adobe Education Leader and a PBS Lead Digital Innovator.
